A little update on our pets. Well, the guinea pig brothers found a loving new home. We have two cats instead as you maybe know.
Above is the couple of Java sparrows. There is also a couple of Society finches which are impossible to take photos of.
I like to show these two girls to kids in my daughters kindergarten. They look rather horrible, these New Guinea spiky stick insects. But they are really gentle. And I think they have gotten used to us already, because they never take up the threatening posture any more.
These here are either Vietnamese stick insects or something else very similar.
Our Cornish rex cats grooming each other.
This little one here is a real fart machine. Better not to be in the vicinity when that happens!
The window light has been abandoned due to the low temperatures. I share the same need for warmth and sun with these cats.

Reading for the black swans
This is March month. Black swan is an Australian bird. It even more elegant then the white swan, with ruffled feathers and impossibly long neck.
I think a cat in front of a new work is becoming a kind of tradition!

Blue dog trainers for the calendar 2018
A curious thing, as soon as I put the drawing on a chair and get ready to take a photo, gets get on the chair and look into the camera. I heard cats will always choose to sit on a sheet of paper. Well, maybe I will try, just not with a drawing on it ;-D

Cat at home for the calendar 2018
The third picture for the upcoming 2018 calendar. A cat at home.
Muse wouldn't leave it alone! She wanted to pose in front of the painting, while Vambola wanted to chew on it.

Our new Cornish rex cat just flew in
Hello, this is Muse (a fly-English), our new Cornish rex kitten. 5 months old. So, we have two cats now. Muse is still rather shy and is very talkative. I went to Kaunas to pick her up from Noksas cattery.
She is such a poser!
And here is Vambola, 7 months with an orchid. It's still not really possible to catch them sitting nicely together as they are not that friendly with each other yet. I keep fingers crossed!

Our cat Vambola
Hello, meet Vambola. Our Cornish rex 4 month old kitten.
She came back with us from AstraRex kattery in Kaunas, Lithuania, together with two more birds-Society finches.
Vambola is an old name for a man, but our cat is a girl. I like how the name sounds and I think the cat really doesn't mind. It's just funny each time we call it out loud.
I really wanted to have a dog and tried all possible breeds, but my allergy is equally bad towards all of them.
This particular cat breed is very dog like. Perfect for me, as I wanted a real companion, even when it is older. Cornish rexes keep their kitten attitude all their lives.
And my favorite dogs are sight hounds, so this cat is like a whippet of the cat world. Also, it's fur is amazing! So soft, I constantly want to touch it. Which is perfect as Vambola seeks contact a lot.Her favorite place is on top of the orchid lamp, naturally.
And it seems all our animals have matching colors. Even the birds, except for one dark society finch. And the insects, of course.
When the guinea pigs are not running around, the cat uses them as pillows. The piggies in turn, lick cat's paws.
But as soon as the pigs are on the floor or in their cage, I can see the hunter instinct awaken.
Birds are also in danger, but so far, the cat responds well to water spray technique :-D
